Winner of the 2017 Prescott Park Arts Festival 30 Pages in 30 Days Playwriting Competition, supported by the New Hampshire Humanities Council.
I love this play, it is perfect in theme and scope for this competition. Catherine clearly brings her extensive experience with theatre, as well as narrative in general, to her storytelling. The two characters make an excellent contrast of generations, life experience, and demeanor. The device of the impending new recovery center provides dramatic tension and raises the stakes while not shifting it into melodramatic excess. The result is a thoughtful play with moments of heat and suggestions of emotional growth.
